My husband and I have been together since 1997, and were married in 2001. Very shortly after getting married, we tried to start our family. We tried for 10+ years, but due to infertility were unable to conceive biological children. So now here we are, in our early 40’s, starting on a new journey toward our family through adoption.
When we started looking into adoption, we realized how much there was to learn, and how little we actually knew. I decided to start a blog for friends and family, to keep them posted on where we are in the process. But once I started writing, it also became about educating people via our research and our experiences as we make our way through this crazy journey we’re on.
Ultimately, I hope I can make people see that forming your family through adoption is entirely different than through biological children, but it is just as rewarding. And if this helps someone in their adoption journey, well, that’s just an added bonus.
Whatever the reason that led you here, I hope you’ll follow along on our journey. I can’t promise it will always be be pretty, because real life often isn’t. But I can promise I’ll be honest. And hopefully at some point along the way, I won’t be just a girl, I’ll finally be a Mom.
